WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
Will I need 4-wheel drive or chains in the winter?
Yes, both are ideal but at minimum you will need chains or cables. While it is a short 20-minute mountain drive from Parowan to Brian Head there will be a few steep grades and hair pin turns. Take your time navigating your way up and always bring chains/cables in the winter (expect snow and freezing temperatures). We do not live in the area and will not be able to provide assistance should you get stuck. In addition, the parking lot at The Aspens and The Ridges is plowed by a contracted company and we do not have the ability to ensure immediate snow removal. Towing is at your own expense.
I've never been to Brian Head. What is there to do?
In the Summer Season there are many things you can do! Popular things to do include ATVing, hiking, fishing, mountain biking, zip lining and more. Just 5 minutes up the road you can get a great view of Cedar Breaks National Park (a Dark Sky location) and a mere 13 minute drive will take you to Brian Head Peak, standing at an elevation of 11,306 feet above sea level with 360 degree views.

In the Winter Season the ski resort is open for business! Enjoy the slopes with your family and friends during your stay. And the rates are a steal! If skiing or snowboarding isn't to your liking, they have areas for tubing and you can always rent a snowmobile for endless adventure. Trails that are used for ATV's in the summer are used for snowmobiling in the winter.

What is the altitude in Brian Head?
The base elevation at Brian Head resort 9600 ft. The peak elevation at the resort is 10,970 ft. The altitude at Brian Head Peak is 11,306 feet above sea level. At such high altitude you'll want to make sure you hydrate to help avoid getting "altitude sickness."
Are there stairs going to the condo?
Yes, there are stairs to the Chic Chalet at the Aspens. We don't want to downplay this as it is probably the one challenge to staying here and should be a consideration, especially at high altitude. That being said, we know it will be worth the climb as once you are settled you will immediately relax in this quiet, cozy retreat in the trees. We have some tips for the climb:
1) Our family uses the "relay" method to load in to reduce exertion and expedite the process (my husband unloads and takes luggage to a mid-way landing and then we get it the rest of the way to the condo) that way each person deals with half the steps.
2) Use smaller bags and luggage.
Question - are Sherpa a thing in Brian Head? We wish!

Their is just one flight of stairs to reach the Chic Chalet II at The Ridges.
Do you allow pets?
Yes! Furry friends of the canine variety are welcome to stay! We allow one dog maximum and no more than 30 lbs. Please include your pet on the reservation and contact us if you have any questions. Bringing pets without express permission violates the rental agreement so please always make sure you notify us that you are bringing a pet.
